DSEJ seeks ATR regarding involvement of HOIs, lecturers in teaching at 9th, 10th 12 levels | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNO): School Education Department has reports from the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) regarding the involvement of HOIs and lecturers in teaching at 9th, 10th, and 12 levels. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) in this regard has asked the concerned CEOs to submit an Action Taken Report. DSEJ in a communique said that in 2023, it was impressed that in order to improve academic standard in School Education Department, Lecturers should be exuberantly Involved in teaching of 9th and 10th level besides +2 level and principals and headmasters should be part of daily time-table and teach at least two classes daily in their subject of interest. “Accordingly, it is impressed upon all Chief Education Officers to submit action taken report within week's time,” it reads In 2023, the School Education Department ordered that the principals and headmasters of government institutions shall take part in teaching students besides managing the administration of their respective schools. Earlier, almost all the principals and headmasters of government run schools used to manage the administration and academics of the institute. However, in a major development, they have been asked to teach at least two classes a day. The government had said that the directives were issued in the interest of academics and growing demand of the public for bringing improvement in the teaching-learning process by experts. “It is impressed upon the principals and headmasters to be part of the daily time-table and teach at least two classes daily in their subject of interest,” the government said. It also had said that these instructions shall be strictly complied with. “All Chief Education Officers are directed to monitor the implementation of these instructions personally and submit reports in this regard on a monthly basis.”—(KNO)
